Deaf Lottery is the fundraising program of Deaf Connect, Australia’s largest whole-of-life service provider for Deaf, hard of hearing and deafblind Australians.
We stand with the Deaf community, building capacity and influencing social change. Deaf Connect is a registered service provider under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), a nationally recognised provider of home care for seniors and delivers accredited training in Auslan (RTO#41192).
Your support allows us to continue to grow, innovate and deliver a greater range of services and programs where they are needed most.
Deaf Connect works with all Australians to create a more inclusive, accessible and equitable community through information, advocacy and education.

How your support helps
For over 30 years, Deaf Lottery supporters have provided much needed funds for Deaf Connect to deliver life-changing programs to Deaf Australians. As the fundraising arm of Deaf Connect, the Deaf Lottery has allowed us to reach and help more of the Deaf community than ever before.
Deaf Connect are providing services, programs and interpreters nationwide, with a focus on advocacy to provide a bigger impact and positive outcomes for the Deaf community.
Delivering Auslan Anywhere
Auslan (Australian Sign Language) is the primary language of the Deaf community. Without access to Auslan, many can face isolation and disconnection.
Your support helps Deaf Connect deliver a range of courses from community classes, to accredited training, courses for Deaf and hard of hearing people, Deaf Awareness Training and family classes for people who want to learn Auslan for their Deaf or hard of hearing children, all around the country.
Whole of Life Support
When you support Deaf Lottery, you’re also supporting Deaf Australians across all stages of life, from newborns to seniors.
This support begins with our services for children - providing family-led early intervention for families of children born with hearing loss, offering language and therapy support.
We also deliver the only Australian aged care program with support services in Auslan. Deaf Connect’s services for seniors allows Deaf seniors to remain in their homes for as long as possible, and to live happy, meaningful and independent lives.
Connecting Deaf Australians to their dreams
Deaf Connect awards regular Deaf Lottery grants and sponsorships to support Deaf, Deafblind, and hard of hearing Australians and organisations that benefit the community.
Your support of the Deaf Lottery funds life-changing initiatives and ideas for the Deaf Community through Grants & Sponsorships such as:
- Auslan Footy - Auslan AFL clinics for kids
- Deaf Festival Sydney - celebrating the Deaf community’s rich culture, language, history and achievements
- NAIDOC Week - supporting Deaf Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
- Deaf Youth Research programs - research during Gallaudet University's Youth Week (the only Deaf university in the world)
- Ceilidh O’Sullivan - who built a school for Deaf children in Africa
- Elliot Miller - who built an award-winning training app to assist people with newly-installed cochlear implants
A snapshot from last year
In 2022, thanks to the ongoing support of Deaf Lottery, Deaf Connect was able to achieve the following:
- 532 hours of grant funded Community Access service provision
- The Let’s Connect roadshow travelled to 13 cities to connect with community
- An average of 223 participants received Therapy and Family Services monthly
- Delivered 50,799 hours of support work
- 786 people received Auslan qualifications
- 2,139 people in our Community Auslan classes
- 23,891 total interpreter bookings delivered with 1,181 interpreter bookings delivered through the free seniors interpreting program
