The Deaf Lottery’s Life Enrichment Grant aims to give members of the Deaf community the opportunity to fulfil their goals. For our winner Todd, this meant funding for an interpreter to allow him to follow his dream of becoming an actor.
The challenge of not having an interpreter meant Todd was unable to participate in drama classes, interact with his peers or learn from his mentors. As a result, Todd was watching his dreams of becoming an actor slip away.
The grant has enabled Todd to overcome these barriers and gain access to the support he needs. Once a disheartened teenager, Todd now attends Drama courses offered by NIDA at TAFE and is on track to a pathway towards a Bachelor degree at University in Fine Arts and Drama.
