In a small town famous for its precious gems, one local today struck “gold”, as Inverell local Russell took out $805,000 in Deaf Lottery 194!

When we reached Russell* to tell him about his big win, his first response was one of stunned silence, before Deaf Lottery Marketing Manager Ian Harvey Ross prompted him to share his first reaction.

“Holy s*** is my first reaction!” he said.

Russell works in the food industry, as part of an essential service which remains open – for now.

“I’ve been busy, but you just never know with things the way they are in the world,” Russell told us. “This money will cause me to make a slight adjustment to my worries!”

Russell can choose from a number of stunning house designs as part of his prize!

Russell has supported the Deaf Lottery since early this year, and added a bonus $5000 to his $800,000 prize thanks to his $20 Book Buyer’s Prize!

“I mostly buy tickets as a donation,” Russell said. “When I’m fortunate enough to have a bit of spare coin, I’m happy to share it with a good cause.”

Russell told us he wasn’t sure how he’d spend his winnings yet, but was leaning towards building his dream home.

“I’ll have to talk it all through with my wife,” he said. “She won’t believe me. To be honest I’m in disbelief myself! I’ll finish my day’s work, draw a breath and then we’ll think about celebrating!”

“To be honest I’m in disbelief!”

We were thrilled to deliver some positive news during a time when so many people are struggling. Thank you to Russell and everyone who continue to support The Deaf Lottery.

Deaf Lottery 195 is now open! Purchase your tickets below.
