About Deaf Lottery

Your support makes a difference

The Deaf Lottery is the fundraising program of Deaf Services and the Deaf Society, Australia’s largest whole-of-life service provider for Deaf, hard of hearing and deafblind Australians.

With over 100 years of experience, Deaf Services and the Deaf Society continues to deliver for the community through early childhood intervention and therapy, information and advocacy, life skills development, accredited Auslan courses, aged care, and as a registered service provider under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), and an approved provider of home care for seniors.

Your support allows us to continue to grow, innovate and deliver a greater range of services and programs where they are needed most.

Deaf Services and the Deaf Society works with all Australians to create a more inclusive, accessible and equitable community through information, advocacy and education.

Your Impact

How your support helps

For over 30 years, The Deaf Lottery supporters have funded Deaf Services and the Deaf Society to deliver life-changing programs to Deaf Australians when and where they’re needed. As the fundraising arm of Deaf Services, The Deaf Lottery has delivered life-changing programs to Deaf Australians for over 30 years. Our 2020 merger with the Deaf Society means your support goes even further – with more services and programs available to the community nationally.

Delivering Auslan Anywhere

Auslan (Australian Sign Language) is the primary language of the Deaf community. Without access to Auslan, many can face isolation and disconnection.

Your support helps Deaf Services and the Deaf Society deliver Auslan programs all around the country, connecting Deaf Aussies in regional and rural locations, delivering positive and empowering results to people like Allyson.

Whole of Life Support

When you support The Deaf Lottery, you’re also supporting Deaf Australians of all ages, from newborns to seniors.

This support begins with Hear for Kids - providing family-led early intervention for families of children born with hearing loss, offering language and therapy support.

We also deliver the only Australian aged care program with support services in Auslan. Deaf Services and the Deaf Society’s Ageing Well allows Deaf seniors to remain in their homes for as long as possible, and to live happy, meaningful and independent lives.

Connecting Deaf Australians to their dreams

Deaf Services and the Deaf Society awards regular Deaf Lottery Grants and sponsorships to Deaf Australians to realise their dreams, from the everyday to the extraordinary.

By buying a ticket in The Deaf Lottery, you’re empowering amazing Deaf Aussies like Ceilidh O’Sullivan, who built a school for Deaf children in Africa, and Elliot Miller, who built an award-winning training app to assist people with newly-installed cochlear implants.
