Meet the winner of Deaf Lottery 223

In August, we were thrilled to welcome Denise, the first prize winner of Lottery 223, to Deaf Connect’s Brisbane office! Denise has been a Deaf Lottery VIP since 2017, supporting the lottery in every draw. 

It was wonderful to celebrate her $800,000 win, plus $5,000 for her ticket book. Over 60 Deaf Connect staff had the chance to meet her, and we proudly handed over the giant cheque during a special morning tea. 

One of the first things Denise plans to do is buy a new car that is fully accessible for her wheelchair, giving her more independence and freedom. 

Denise met her now-husband, Keith, through a dating app just a few years ago, when they were both in their late seventies.  

Since then, they’ve built a wonderful life together. 

Thanks to this Deaf Lottery win, Denise and Keith have secured two spots in a local retirement village, where they can live comfortably with access to great support. 

We can’t wait to see this couple start their new chapter, and we’re grateful they could join us to celebrate this incredible win!
