Lucky Lottery 200: Jay’s Story

A ride-share driver was busily dropping off and picking up passengers in Victoria one morning, it was business as usual for the unsuspecting man.

On the same morning, the Deaf Lottery office gathered around the phone to call the winner of the lucky 200 Lottery, our biggest lottery yet, celebrating 200 lotteries with proceeds going directly back into the Deaf community.

It rang once, no answer. It rang a second time, no answer. It rang a third time and at last, our Lottery 200 winner picked up the call that would change his life.

The Deaf Lottery’s lucky Lottery 200 winner Jay* says “It was a surreal moment. I just thought it was a scam call, it sounded real but I couldn’t believe it as I was mid-shift, pulled over in the car, taking this call from Deaf Lottery team, hearing them all cheer in the background, learning I had won the Lottery. I still couldn’t believe it until I was actually signing the official paperwork.”

The lucky lottery 200 winner will be using his wins to help buy a home for his children, as it is a full house in the family home.

“Winning the Deaf Lottery has opened up so many opportunities for my family and I. Ultimately it has meant that I will be able to help my adult children buy a house so that they have a head start in their future.” says Jay*.

A wholesome plan to support his family and help them into the housing market has put this Deaf Lottery winner in the running for father of the year.

A true family man, Jay* shared this joyous news with his children and wife immediately, who were absolutely over the moon and couldn’t believe it themselves.

Jay chooses to support the Deaf Lottery as he comes across many linguistically different people and knows how important communication is in the community.

Jay has chosen to go with the Mortgage Buster Prize option, driving home with a new Kia Sportage and the rest in Gold Bullion to support and invest in his family’s future.

From all of us at Deaf Connect, we would like to thank Jay for supporting Deaf Australians, and wish him and his family all the best for a very bright future!
