192 Winner Call Blog Header

Ticket Number: 975233 | Location: Frankston North VIC 3200 | Winnings: $820,000

Aged care worker Poppy is looking forward to an early retirement after winning a massive $820,000 in The Deaf Lottery!

“Oh my goodness. I’m shaking!” said Poppy*, our very deserving Deaf Lottery 192 Winner, after learning of her incredible win.

We managed to reach Poppy about 5pm on Draw Day to share the amazing news that not only had she won our $800,000 First Prize, but also a bonus $20,000 in Gold Bullion, just for being a Deaf Lottery VIP!

“I don’t know what to say except thank you!” said Poppy. “This is going to change my life!”

Poppy says she’ll be able to retire earlier thanks to her prize win!

Poppy, who works as a Personal Carer in the aged care sector, said her job was “the best” but that her win would bring her closer to the next stage of her life.

“I planned to retire in about four years, but this is going to make it so much easier!” she said.

With the Getaway Lifestyle prize option firmly in her sights, Poppy said she was already looking forward to visiting some showrooms to pick out her ultimate home away from home.

“I’ve been badgering my husband for a big campervan,” she laughed. “It’s got to be a big one!”

Every Deaf Lottery win also delivers you more time with those you love.

Poppy has supported The Deaf Lottery since 2018, and became a VIP at the beginning of 2020 – a decision that netted her $20K in bonus gold!

“The reason I support The Deaf Lottery is that a very close friend’s grandson is deaf. I remember thinking if $50 every couple of months can help people like him, then it’s definitely worth it.”

The timing of her win had a very special personal significance also for Poppy.

“My dad passed away seven years ago tomorrow,” she said. “This is a little gift for dad.”

We would like to wish Poppy and her family all the very best and thank them once again for supporting Deaf Australians through participation in The Deaf Lottery.
